OUR HOME

A Town Built for Good Stories

The "garrison town" of Halifax has always been a sociable place to weather a storm. A waterfront lively with rum-runners and privateers, a Titanic connection and the entire East Coast Naval fleet all make for good story-telling over a cold brew.

Our Halifax Seaport home is particularly special with its unique mix of history, culture and vibrancy. From the oldest farmers' market in North America to Pier 21 Canadian Museum of Immigration to NSCAD art college and more than 180 cruise ships annually it's where we choose to work and play.

What makes the Seaport special

Pier 21

Canada's national museum of immigration the gateway through which over one million immigrants entered Canada between 1928 and 1971. A powerful piece of Halifax's identity right on our doorstep.

Halifax Farmers' Market

The oldest continuously operating farmers' market in North America, dating back to 1750. Fresh local produce, artisan goods and Maritime community spirit right next door to us.

180+ Cruise Ships

The Halifax Seaport welcomes more than 180 cruise ships each year, bringing visitors from around the world to one of Canada's most historic and vibrant port cities.

NSCAD University

The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design has called Halifax home since 1887. Its presence on the waterfront keeps the Seaport buzzing with creativity, culture and fresh ideas.

Naval Heritage

Halifax is home to the largest Royal Canadian Navy base on the Atlantic coast. Maritime history runs deep here and you can feel it in every corner of the Seaport.

The Titanic Connection

Halifax played a central role in the Titanic disaster of 1912, serving as the primary recovery port. The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic holds one of the world's largest collections of Titanic artefacts.

Garrison Seaport Taproom

100% Seaport Brewed

Garrison has been part of the Halifax Seaport fabric since 2006, when we became the first anchor tenant of the newly developed waterfront. We're proud to be a fixture of this extraordinary place brewing every drop of Garrison beer right here on the waterfront.

The Seaport isn't just our address. It's our identity, our inspiration, and the community we're proud to be part of every single day.
